New Community Connection Links, Tracks OSU Volunteers

Just in time for the new academic year at The Ohio State University (OSU), Community Connection is now available.

Community Connection is an Internet-based service that will connect and match OSU faculty and students with neighborhood schools and community service organizations. This web tool makes the most of today's technology to answer the national call to increase community service. Free-Net, an outreach project of OSU and OSC (Ohio Supercomputer Center), developed the database and web interfaces that run this new service.

New Conference to Connect Ohio’s Biosciences Research Leaders

The Inaugural Ohio Collaborative Conference on Bioinformatics (OCCBIO) is set for June 28-30, 2006, at Ohio University in Athens, Ohio. The conference provides an interdisciplinary forum for discussing research findings and experiences in computational approaches to biology-related problems. An important conference goal is to foster long-term collaborative relationships among informatics and life sciences researchers from academia, government and industry--spanning interests across Ohio.

Timothy J. Muris, FTC Chairman, Featured at Privacy2001 Conference

Newly appointed Federal Trade Commission (FTC) Chairman Timothy J. Muris will provide the keynote speech on Thursday morning October 4, at Privacy2001. The conference, one of the top privacy events in the country, will be held at the Renaissance Hotel in Cleveland, Ohio October 2-4, and will be attended by more than 250 leaders and policy makers from government, industry and consumer organizations.
