Stutz Receives Chairs Award from OSU CIS Department
At an annual awards banquet on May 20, 2003, Al Stutz was presented the Chairs Award for his service and effort in assisting the Computer and Information Science (CIS) Department at The Ohio State University (OSU). In addition to serving as a Senior CIS Lecturer, Stutz is the Ohio Supercomputer Center Chief Operating Officer and Interim OSC Networking Director.

Ohio Supercomputer Center Reorganizes to Better Meet Demands, Seize Opportunities
The Ohio Supercomputer Center (OSC) announced a repositioning of its organizational structure and management to better serve evolving customer and infrastructure requirements.
The move follows recommendations from advisory groups and last year’s strategic planning process to quickly adapt existing and future services and initiatives to the needs of a growing customer base.

Ohio Supercomputer Center's Alan Chalker Wins MATLAB Contest
His third time playing was a charm. Dr. Alan Chalker, senior systems developer/engineer at the Ohio Supercomputer Center (OSC), recently won the 14th semi-annual MATLAB Online Program Contest on Dec. 6, 2006.
New Hires Added to OSC-Springfield Workforce
"These new hires will provide systems and user support for the equipment located in Springfield," said Kevin Wohlever, OSC-S Director. "We are excited to bring these quality people on board and look forward to the contributions that they will make to our operations."
As systems developer/engineer, David Bertram leads support of the Apple Cluster that will serve a large number of OSC users and provide a testing environment on this unique architecture. His future goals at OSC are to make project users' lives easier and to maintain staff machines.
Expansion
Widely recognized Ohio Supercomputer Center (OSC) programs to support the development and expansion of advanced manufacturing align closely with a new national initiative to help U.S. manufacturers improve cost, quality and speed of production in order to remain globally competitive. Announced today by the White House, the Advanced Manufacturing Partnership (AMP) will bring together industry, universities and the federal government to identify and invest in key emerging technologies – information technology, biotechnology and nanotechnology.
OSC Senior Scientist Awarded USAID Award
Ohio Supercomputer Center (OSC) Senior Scientist Moti Mittal has been awarded a grant by the United States Agency For International Development (USAID) for his research on transporting air pollutants from energy activities in India.
