The Cornell Theory Center (CTC) and the Department of Defense's Major Shared Resource Centers (MSRCs) have announced the launching of a Virtual Workshop to provide DoD-sponsored scientists and engineers with self-paced, on-line training in parallel computing.
Beginning this fall, students at two additional colleges in Ohio will have the unique opportunity to enhance the market value of their bachelor’s degrees by earning a minor in computational science.
The Ohio Supercomputer Center’s (OSC) internationally-recognized training expertise will now be used to help reduce vulnerability in our nation’s information system.
Recently, The Ohio State University (OSU) was designated as a National Center of Academic Excellence in Information Assurance Education (CAEIAE) by the National Security Agency (NSA) and Department of Homeland Security (DHS). As part of OSU’s designation, OSC will provide NSA-certified training and participate as a member of OSU’s Consortium for IAE.
The Ohio Supercomputer Center (OSC) is hosting a two-day workshop on "Using ROOT's Virtual Monte Carlo to Simulate the Response Of A Large Ion Collider Experiment Detector System" and "Using Grid Technology, AliEn, to Access and Analyze Large Data Sets." The workshops will be held on May 25 and 26, respectively, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in OSC’s BALE theater and broadcast over the VRVS/Access Grid.

On January 27, the Ohio Supercomputer Center (OSC) will present a workshop at Wittenberg University entitled, “High Performance Computing at OSC: An Overview.”
The lecture will be held in the BDK Science Center’s Bailey Auditorium from 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. There is no charge to attend, and members from the community, area businesses, and higher education institutions are invited to participate.
A Sun Solaris training class, held at OSC on December 11, was a great opportunity for users to learn how to use the system environments more effectively for their research. Participants included Wilberforce University, OSU Medical Center, NCR, Lucent Technologies, Nationwide, Huntington Bank, and Chemical Abstracts.
OSC (Ohio Supercomputer Center) will present a half-day workshop on Performance Tuning for Microprocessor-based Systems on January 17, 2002.
Cray Inc. customers can now pick the brains of OSC (Ohio Supercomputer Center) high performance computing experts and make use of their vast experience. As part of an ongoing contract, OSC is offering training facilities to Cray's customer base, further strengthening its extremely successful relationship with the supercomputer leader.

That’s why, to better prepare their students, 19 professors from the throughout the United States and Puerto Rico are attending a weeklong workshop at the Ohio Supercomputer Center that will teach them how to integrate the discipline into their undergraduate curriculums.
