Update 12/3/14:

OSC has acquired its new ABAQUS license with new license terms.  Use is now limited by both institution and for use in educational, institutional, instructional, and/or research purposes.  Results arising from use of OSC’s license must be made freely available to anyone without reasonable delay.

Only users who are faculty, research staff or students at OSU, University of Toledo, University of Cincinnati, Miami University of Ohio and Wright State University are permitted access to the new license.  Users from additional degree granting academic institutions may request to be added to this list per a cost. All users need to sign a new software agreement form to abide by the new license terms.

The renewal process of the Abaqus license for Ohio Supercomputer Center (OSC) users is taking longer this year due to some recent changes in the license agreement. The OSC Abaqus license is good through Oct 31st, 2014. However, on Nov 1st, it is likely that our users will no longer have access until the current renewal is complete and a new license can be made available.

OSC has been working on this renewal for approximately two months, but the process has been delayed by the need for a license agreement that supports users beyond OSU. We have agreed on the basic terms with Dessault Systemes and hope that the purchase can be completed quickly. However, we can make no guarantees until both OSU and Dessault Systemes have signed off on the final license agreement. Additionally, after the renewal, the license will only be available to users who are faculty, research staff or students at OSU, University of Toledo, University of Cincinnati, Miami University of Ohio and Wright State University. Furthermore, users will have to sign a new software access form stating that they will abide by the license terms.

Users from additional academic institutions (degree granting) may request to be added to this list, and can be added at an incremental cost.  We will have to analyze such requests as they come in. We will work towards a uniform procedure and policy for this moving forward.

We apologize for the inconvenience this transition may cause. Please contact contact OSC Help at OSCHelp@osc.edu with any questions or concerns.
