SC12 Conference

Date:
Saturday, November 10, 2012 - 5:00am to Friday, November 16, 2012 - 5:00am
Location:

Salt Lake City, UT

For 24 years, SC has been at the forefront in gathering the best and brightest minds in supercomputing together, with our unparalleled technical papers, tutorials, posters and speakers. SC12 will take a major step forward not only in supercomputing, but in super-conferencing, with everything designed to make the 2012 conference the most ‘you’ friendly conference in the world. We’re streamlining conference information and moving to a virtually real-time method of determining technical program thrusts. No more pre-determined technical themes picked far in advance. Through social media, data mining, and active polling, we’ll see which technical interests and issues emerge throughout the year, and focus on the ones that interest you the most.

The conference welcomes you to participate in the breadth of conference offerings, including:

Technical Program

One of the biggest changes is in the way SC12 will do the technical program. You’ve asked for more time to include your latest research results, and we’ve listened. The SC12 submission deadlines have been extended, with most program deadlines at the end of April. And, we’re streamlining the way we share information. In the past, SC conferences featured Masterworks, plenary speakers, and state-of-the-field addresses. We are now grouping them together as what you’ve called them – invited speakers. Each session will bring you the latest, most pertinent, most forward-thinking innovation and information in the industry. What’s more, leading up to the conference you’ll have opportunities to interact with selected speakers via social media.

Communities Program

One of the best parts of attending a conference like SC not only to immerse ourselves in the most complete and up-to-date knowledge the industry has to offer, but to meet and mingle with the best people in this industry. SC is a time to see old friends and colleagues, to make new connections, and to enjoy the company of others who are invested as deeply in supercomputing as you are. SC is preparing a number of great community-building events, such as our popular HPC educator program, broader engagement, and a revved-up student cluster competition. These activities are geared up to build communities among high performance computing professional, students, and anyone else who wants to join in.
