A downtime for all OSC HPC systems is scheduled from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., Tuesday, March 22, 2022. The downtime will affect the Pitzer and Owens Clusters, web portals, and HPC file servers. Client Portal (my.osc.edu) and state-wide licenses will be available during the downtime.
In preparation for the downtime, the batch scheduler will begin holding jobs that cannot be completed before 7 a.m., March 22, 2022. Jobs that are not started on clusters will be held until after the downtime and then started once the system is returned to production status.
Highlights of the downtime activities include:
- Regular systems maintenance
- Upgrade the NVIDIA driver version on Owens and Pitzer
- Attempt to correct reported usage of Project or Scratch space
- Jupyter updates

The Julia kernels 0.5.1 and Julia 0.6.4 are being removed.

Julia kernels >= 1.0 are not automatically installed. See the documentation on installing Julia kernels.

Python kernels for Conda environments created using Python 2.7, 3.5 and 3.6 on Owens are not automatically installed. See the documentation on conda driven python kernels.
